‘hors categorie’
Stage 9 has two ‘hors categorie’ climbs in it.
That means the mountain climb the riders are about to undertake is so hard that the judges cannot even catogorize it. Sort of self-explanatory, but there it is.
By the way, looking at the way things shook out two days ago - a bunch of riders OUT OUT OUT and Rasmussen firmly in command - I think only more riders will be dropped today and that Rasmussen will either cement his place or end up with a position precariously close to sharing the Yellow at the end of the day.
YES, I am writing this without any knowledge of the resutls. Let's see how far off I am...

Update as of 2:28PM France Time
At around the 50KM mark of today's 190+KM Stage 5, the three men who attacked the peloton are 14:28:04 ahead.
This is a huge lead that has been made easier because the CSC team has decided not to exhaust itself trying to maintain possession of the yellow jersey.
They seem to realize that with the mountains coming up soon, that Cancellara won't be able to hang on to the lead for much longer so they are conserving energy and preparing as a team for the next 14 stages.

Cancellara is still in Yellow

Stephane Auge of Cofidis is now in Polka Dot (taking it away from Millar)
And in the White jersey (the youth classification open to riders born after 1/1/82) Vladimir Gusev of Team Discovery
